RUCHI SANGHIProducer, Artistic Director and ChoreographerRuchi Sanghi is a choreographer hailing from Mumbai, India where she has had extensive experience under renowned choreographers of Bollywood such as Natraj Gopikrishna and Shiamak Davar. She received critical acclaim for her direction and choreography of “Anarkali the Musical” in 2022 and 2024, “Devdas the Musical” in 2013 and 2014, “The Nautch Girls” in 2010 and “Nine Flavours” in 2008. She continues her artistic journey with Paasbaan – bringing a story that that places women at the heart of their own narrative.

ABHIJIT DANMusic ComposerTrained by Indian music Maestro Pt. Swapan Chaudhury, Abhijit Dan is one of the most accomplished Tabla players of Australia. His formative skills were honed with Shri Harihar Das of Lukhnow Gharana, and he was awarded ‘Sangeet Bhushan’ from Prachin Kala Kendra of Chandigarh, one of the reputed music organisations in India. Abhijit is a regular television and radio artist and has accompanied many artists of international fame from all over the world. He is a composer and arranger and has worked for several albums with some more coming up in near future.

VIRAL HATHIDirector and ScriptwriterViral’s interest in theatre has its roots in skits and plays performed in primary school. He came across opportunities in writing and directing street plays as well as working with experienced stage artists, which encouraged him to take the plunge into scripting and directing longer pieces of theatre. While he has an exposure to many forms of theatre, his fascination lies in mime and musical theatre. He received critical acclaim as the director and scriptwriter of “Anarkali the Musical” and “Devdas the Musical.”

SAGAR AGASHELighting and Production DesignerThe highly acclaimed lighting designer of “Anarkali the Musical”, “Devdas the Musical”, “The Nautch Girls”, “Durga Ban Gayee Gauri” and “Jis Lahore Nayee Dekhya”, Sagar specialises in Indian period dramas, and creating a whole era purely through the magic of his lighting and production design.

NIHARIKA SANGHIAssistant ChoreographerNiharika has learnt Kathak for over 20 years, primarily under the guidance of her guru and mother Ruchi Sanghi, as well as renowned Kathak gurus in India such as Smt. Nutan Patwardhan. Paasbaan is her second production as a choreographer (after “Anarkali the Musical”), where she has conceptualised and created spectacular pieces, that celebrate both Kathak and Indian Folk, bringing to life the era of royalty.

SRIJANI GHOSHLead VocalistSrijani is one of the most well-known and talented Indian singers in Australia. She has taken Hindustani classical vocal training from Guru Imam Ghulam of Allahabad (Prayag Gharana), lessons in bhajan and thumri from Esha Bondopadhyay (Kolkata) of Luckhnow Gharana, training in light vocals from Debasis Bannerjee in Kolkata and is currently training under Shri Gautam Ghosal. Srijani is a reputed music guru in Sydney. She has performed at various venues across India & Australia, with over 100 concerts to her credit.

APARNA NAGASHAYANALead VocalistHailing from a family of four generations of musicians, music flows in Aparna’s veins. Daughter of the celebrated Indian musician Shri D.S Garud, Aparna won critical acclaim with her composition for the period musical “Anarkali the Musical,” “Devdas the Musical”, “The Nautch Girls” and “Nine Flavours.”
